Cheldon Angus serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Winnipeg Civic Employees’ Benefits Program (WCEBP), where he leads the administration of pension and benefit plans. Appointed as Co-Chair of the Canadian Public Pension Leadership Council (CPPLC) in January 2024, Cheldon brings extensive experience and dedication to advancing pension leadership in Canada.

Cheldon’s career in the pension sector spans over two decades, with significant contributions made during his tenure at the Saskatchewan Healthcare Employees’ Pension Plan (SHEPP), where he served as Chief People and Technology Officer. At SHEPP, he prioritized enhancing the member experience through innovative technology solutions and fostering a relationship-centered approach between people and technology, which he continues to bring to WCEBP.

In his role with the CPPLC, Cheldon leverages his knowledge of pension plan dynamics to contribute to research and discussions on the importance of sustainable and resilient pension management. His involvement in various pension industry forums and committees has given him a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the sector, fostering a network of like-minded peers.

Holding a bachelor’s degree in computer science, an MBA (Hons) from the University of Regina, plus the Institute of Corporate Directors designation from the Rotman School of Management, Cheldon is also a certified Project Management Professional and Certified Business Continuity Professional.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Cheldon maintains a balanced lifestyle that reflects his commitment to overall well-being. His personal interests include weightlifting and hot yoga, and he can often be found with one of his munchkin cats by his side when at home.
